Pediatric Osteopathy

The MQ Osteopathy Moderna Clinic pays special attention to pediatric patients, from 0 years old, the first weeks of life up to 17 years old.

Osteopaths, specialists in the pediatric field, use delicate and painless techniques to solve some problems commonly found in children and prevent their chronic condition from affecting their development.

  • What are the most common types of pediatric problems?

    • Gas colic and constipation;
    • Regurgitation and gastroesophageal reflux;
    • Recurrent ear infections, sinusitis and rhinitis;
    • Plagiocephaly / Brachycephaly / Flattening - changes in the shape of the head;
    • Scoliosis; Congenital torticollis (head tilted – e.g.: always choosing the same breast to feed);
    • Difficulty breastfeeding; Difficulty Sleeping/Irritant Crying

    The Osteopath, with light manipulations and delicate touches, directs the treatment towards eliminating the dysfunctions underlying these disorders, rebalancing superficial and deep tensions and, thus, restoring the normal functioning of the organism.

    The approach, mainly of the "craniosacral" type, consists of predominantly gentle and painless maneuvers aimed at joint and tissue correction and the reestablishment of the correct dynamics of body fluids (vascular, lymphatic and interstitial).

  • How do we take care of little ones?

    The safety of the little patient is our Clinic's priority. Treatment is only carried out after all the necessary data regarding your clinical history has been collected, from pregnancy, birth to the moment of consultation.

  • What age is Pediatric Osteopathy recommended?

    From birth, the earlier the treatment, the better the results. Childbirth is an event that can leave consequences for the baby, such as:

    • Umbilical cord around the neck;
    • Births using forceps or suction cups, cranial changes – shape of the baby’s head;
    • Joint trauma, falls or use of excessive force to remove the fetus;
    • Induced labor – produces stronger contractions, compressing the baby;
    • Uterine positioning of the baby – last months of pregnancy – reduced space compared to the baby’s size – lack of mobility;
    • Bone misalignments;
    • Stress during pregnancy

At the MQ Modern Osteopathy Clinic, pediatric patients are monitored by a team made up of Osteopaths, Naturopathy and Homeopathy, who put their experience at the service of the family.

And after treatment?

Young patients report a general feeling of relaxation after treatment. It is possible that on the same night of the session, the child sleeps much more deeply and for longer than normal.
